Remove blank or unwanted pages from a PDF.

100% Secure - Files Processed Locally in Your Browser

How to delete pages from a PDF

Remove blank, duplicate or unwanted pages from a PDF in a few clicks. You get a clean copy without those pages, usually a smaller file too, and your original stays untouched on your device.

  1. 1

    Add your PDF

Drop it onto the box above or tap “choose a file”. A preview of every page appears so you can see exactly what you’re removing.

  2. 2

    Mark the pages to delete

Click a page to mark it with a red cross, or type page numbers and ranges such as 2, 5-7. Click a marked page again to keep it after all.

  3. 3

    Check what’s left

A counter shows how many pages you’re deleting and how many will remain. You can’t delete every page, so there’s always at least one left.

  4. 4

    Download the cleaned-up PDF

Press Delete. The new file downloads straight away with “-edited” added to its name.

Why your file gets smaller

Some tools “delete” pages by hiding them, which leaves the images and fonts those pages used inside the file. PDFCocoon builds a fresh PDF from only the pages you keep, so anything used solely by the deleted pages is left out. If you remove a few photo-heavy scanned pages, you’ll often see the file size drop noticeably, which helps when you’re up against an email or upload limit.

Everything on the pages you keep stays exactly as it was: text remains selectable and searchable, and images keep their full resolution.

Pages people most often delete

  • Blank pages from double-sided scanning, where the back of every sheet was captured too.
  • Cover sheets, adverts and terms pages that the recipient doesn’t need.
  • Duplicates created when a page was scanned twice.
  • Instruction pages from forms, before you send the completed form back.
  • Pages that aren’t anyone else’s business, such as unrelated months on a bank statement.

Note that deleting removes whole pages. If you need to hide part of a page, such as an account number, you need a redaction tool that permanently removes the content; covering it with a black box in a viewer doesn’t remove the text underneath.

Delete, extract or organize?

If you’re removing a handful of pages from a long document, this tool is quickest. If you’re keeping only a few pages, it’s easier to choose those instead with Extract PDF Pages. And if you also want to reorder or rotate pages while you tidy up, Organize PDF does all three in one place.

Before you send the edited file

  • Flick through the result. Check the page count and the first and last pages, especially if you typed page ranges.
  • Look for repeated information. If you removed a page for privacy, make sure the same details don’t also appear on a summary or cover page you kept.
  • Give it a clear name. Rename the download to something the recipient will recognize, such as “lease-signed-pages.pdf”.
  • Keep the original safe. Your full document is unchanged, so store it somewhere you can find it if you need the deleted pages later.

Private by design

The pages you delete are often the sensitive ones. With PDFCocoon your document never leaves your device: it’s opened and rebuilt by your own browser, and nothing is uploaded or stored. That makes it safe to use with contracts, statements and records you wouldn’t want to hand to an unknown website.

Frequently asked questions

Can I undo a deletion?

Your original PDF is never changed, so nothing is lost. If you deleted the wrong page, start over with the original file and choose again.

Can I delete every page?

No. A PDF needs at least one page, so the tool asks you to keep at least one.

Are deleted pages really gone from the new file?

Yes. The new PDF is built only from the pages you keep, so the deleted pages and any images or fonts used only by them are not included.

Will the remaining pages lose quality?

No. They are copied exactly as they are, without re-compression.

Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Open the PDF with its password in your PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, then delete pages from that copy.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Tap the pages you want to remove and download the result. It works in the browser on iPhone, iPad and Android.
