Terms of Use

The ground rules for using PDFCocoon, in plain language.

1. Agreement

By using PDFCocoon (https://pdfcocoon.com), operated by Dulanka Katugampala, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

2. The service

PDFCocoon provides free tools for working with PDF files and images. The tools run entirely in your web browser; your files are not uploaded to us. We may add, change or remove tools at any time, and we don’t guarantee that the site will always be available.

3. Your files and your responsibility

You are responsible for the files you use with our tools and for having the right to use, copy and modify them. Because your files never reach our servers, we have no access to them and cannot recover them. Always keep a copy of your original file.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone else’s rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • use automated means to access the site in a way that puts unreasonable load on it;
  • interfere with or misrepresent the ads shown on the site.

5. No warranty

The tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make every tool reliable, but please check your output before relying on it, especially for important documents.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dulanka Katugampala is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Intellectual property

The PDFCocoon name, logo, design and written content belong to Dulanka Katugampala. The open-source libraries we use remain under their own licenses. Files you create with our tools are yours.

8. Ads and third-party links

The site shows ads and links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of third parties.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
